Technology Resources

hepacult has developed and established unique techniques to isolate and preserve human liver cells. This technology base is constantly expanded and enhanced by know-how acquired from the concrete application at hand and research projects carried out with partners.

As opposed to conventional methods for the preservation of cells - e. g. the cryo-conservation and subsequent short time cultivation/suspension culture - hepacult's preservation technology guarantees a higher viability of cells and higher functionality of their metabolic properties after isolation of the cells.

Hence hepacult overcomes the deficiencies of hitherto available cells. Thus hepatocytes become reliable experimental models, which are superior to other experimental models due to their greater proximity to the human in vivo conditions.

Besides hepacult has gained comprehensive pioneer knowledge in extracting and using non-parenchymal cells and pathocultures, positioning the company as spearhead of new scientific-commercial endeavours.

Human hepatocytes retain their CYP450 inducibility after shipment

Cytochrome P450 activities of human liver cells in vitro after 24 hours at 4°C in hepacult's Cold Storage Solution. Specific CYP450 isoforms were induced by omeprazol (OP), rifampicin (Rif) and phonobarbital (PB) and compared to non induced cells.
