A ready supply for your experiments

Freshly isolated primary hepatocytes of human origin can be considered a "gold standard" for validation of research done with animal models or transformed cell lines. In addition, such cells are the best choice to identify novel therapeutic agents in vitro, to investigate the metabolism of drugs or to determine enzyme induction after drug treatment. The only disadvantage of using freshly isolated human hepatocytes is, that availability is not always assured.

hepacult now offers a good alternative by providing cryopreseved hepatocytes. This will provide a ready supply of hepatocytes for researchers, allowing for greater flexibility in planning of experiments.

It is known that human hepatocytes show decreased viability and ability to adhere to culture plates after cryopreservation. However, hepacult is able to provide hepatocytes that adhere well after thawing and show their typical metabolic characteristics.
